Senior Lead .NET Developer (C# / .NET)

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an exceptional Senior Lead .NET Developer who combines deep technical expertise with strong hands-on development skills. This role is intended for an experienced engineer who has designed, built and operated complex production systems and can independently define technical solutions and engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve business-critical backend services using C# and modern .NET.
- Take end-to-end technical ownership from conception and architecture to implementation and production operation.
- Design scalable, secure and maintainable APIs, services and distributed systems.
- Make and document key architectural and technology decisions.
- Ensure high standards for code quality, automated testing, performance, security, observability and reliability.
- Analyse and resolve complex production, integration and performance issues.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews and establish pragmatic engineering standards.
- Mentor developers and raise the technical level of the team.
- Work closely with product management, development teams and company leadership on strategic technical decisions.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
- At least 7 years of extensive hands-on experience with C# and .NET.
- Proven responsibility for the architecture and implementation of complex production systems.
- Expert-level knowledge of C#, modern .NET, asynchronous programming, concurrency, memory management and performance optimisation.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, REST APIs, messaging and integration patterns.
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases, data modelling, transactions and SQL performance optimisation.
- Strong experience with automated testing, CI/CD, containers, cloud infrastructure, monitoring and observability.
- Strong understanding of software security, authentication, authorisation and secure API design.
- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make pragmatic, long-term architectural decisions.
- Proven ability to lead technically, communicate clearly and take responsibility without relying on formal authority.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills as well as very good written and spoken English.
- A degree in computer science or comparable practical experience.
