About the role
We are building an AI-powered B2B sourcing platform for a long-standing client, a German distributor of electronic components that connects Asian manufacturers with European electronics companies. The platform automates the full process from a customer’s bill of materials (BOM) to a finished quote, using agentic AI workflows with a human in the loop. For the platform’s next phase, we are building a dedicated core team and are already speaking with experienced candidates for the role of a hands-on Senior Tech Lead, who will own the platform’s architecture and drive its growth. The start date is flexible, so we are happy to hear from you even if you are currently in a notice period.
Your Role:
As Senior Tech Lead, you will own the technical direction of a Laravel/Filament platform running on Microsoft Azure, lead a team of two AI engineers, and work closely with the client’s management to turn an ambitious product roadmap into reliable, scalable software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the architecture of the Laravel/Filament monolith (DDD) and keep it modular as it grows
- Design and extend the agentic AI orchestration: process steps, state model, fallback logic and restarts
- Evaluate and select LLMs based on speed, cost and quality, and build reliable pipelines with validated structured outputs, confidence thresholds, fallback chains, cost tracking and evaluation
- Lead ERP/CRM integrations, including the automated quote push into the client’s ERP
- Own the Azure infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
- Lead and mentor two engineers through code reviews, technical guidance and sprint planning
- Shape the technical roadmap together with the client’s management
Your Profile (Must Have):
- 4+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership
- Deep Laravel/PHP 8.x expertise: service container, events, queues, policies, package development
- Advanced Filament (custom pages, actions, widgets and components beyond standard CRUD)
- Proven architecture experience: DDD, clean/hexagonal architecture, modularizing a growing monolith
- Asynchronous processing: Laravel Horizon, Redis queues, job batching, idempotent workers, retries
- Hands-on LLM engineering in production (OpenAI/Gemini APIs, prompt orchestration, structured outputs, evaluation)
- Advanced PostgreSQL: data modeling, indexing, query optimization
- Test automation with Pest/PHPUnit; Docker and CI/CD
- Fluency in English is required; German is a plus
Nice to Have:
- Microsoft Azure (Container Apps, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Redis, Key Vault, VNet) and GitLab CI with OIDC
- Microsoft Graph API and OAuth via Azure AD / Entra ID
- Embeddings, semantic search, RAG and agentic workflow frameworks
- Entity resolution, matching and deduplication of technical master data
- ERP/CRM integrations (e.g. AlphaPlan, HubSpot, TrustedParts)
- Observability (logging, tracing, metrics) and performance profiling
- Role-based permissions (Spatie Permission) and multi-tenancy
- Domain experience in procurement, supply chain or electronic components
