About the role
We are building an AI-powered B2B sourcing platform for a long-standing client, a German distributor of electronic components that connects Asian manufacturers with European electronics companies. The platform automates the full process from a customer’s bill of materials (BOM) to a finished quote, using agentic AI workflows with a human in the loop. For the platform’s next phase, we are building a dedicated core team and are already speaking with candidates for two AI Engineer positions with a full-stack Laravel background. The start date is flexible, so we are happy to hear from you even if you are currently in a notice period.
Your Role:
As AI Engineer, you will build features end to end, from the Laravel backend to the Filament user interface, and bring AI capabilities into everyday business processes. You will work closely with the Senior Tech Lead in a small, focused team.
Key Responsibilities:

Build platform features end to end: Laravel backend and Filament (Livewire, Alpine.js, Tailwind CSS) frontend
Implement business logic such as tiered pricing, sales price calculation, freight and customs duty calculation
Build AI features: datasheet parsing, replacement-part checks with confidence scores, supplier enrichment and a knowledge chatbot
Integrate external systems (ERP, CRM, supplier data) via APIs
Write clean, tested and maintainable code and take part in code reviews

Your Profile (Must Have):

2+ years of professional experience with Laravel/PHP 8
Frontend experience with Filament or Livewire, Alpine.js and Tailwind CSS
Hands-on work with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini), structured outputs and prompt design
Solid PostgreSQL skills and experience with REST API integrations
Experience with queues and background jobs (Redis, Horizon)
Testing with Pest/PHPUnit; Git and Docker
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Fluency in English is required; German is a plus

Nice to Have:

Embeddings, vector search and RAG
PDF and document parsing, data extraction
Entity matching and deduplication
Microsoft Azure and GitLab CI
Experience with ERP/CRM integrations
Interest in electronics, procurement or supply chain
