Finance Officer
The American School of Kosova is looking for a full time Finance Officer. The purpose of this position is reporting to a senior and supporting the finance and accounting teams.
Responsibilities:
Cash Management
- Recording and monitoring of cash transactions.
- Ensuring supporting documentation for each transaction.
- Controlling and maintaining petty cash funds.
Bank Reconciliation
- Comparing bank transactions with accounting records.
- Identifying and correcting discrepancies between bank accounts and records.
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable (AR & AP)
- Recording sales and purchase invoices in the accounting system.
- Monitoring due dates and following up on outstanding payments.
- Reconciling with customers and suppliers at the end of the month.
Daily Accounting Entries
- Recording daily transactions such as sales, purchases, expenses, payments, and revenues.
- Maintaining complete and organized documentation for each entry.
Accounting Adjustments
- Adjusting for depreciation, advances, prepaid expenses, and period accruals.
- Periodic review of account balances to ensure accuracy.
General Ledger Reconciliation
- Reconciling various accounts such as inventory, fixed assets, taxes, etc.
- Maintaining accurate records of the General Ledger (GL).
Monthly reports such as: cash report, bank report, AR and AP reports.
- Internal reports for management and financial analysis.
Support in the Preparation of Financial Statements
Requirements:
- BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics;
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in the relevant field;
- Speak and write English at a professional level;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work;
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
- Strong organizational and planning skills
