Job Title: Tax Analyst
Location: Muharrem Fejza, Pristina (On-site)
Working Hours: 15:00 - 23:00 (local time)
LS Global specializes in optimizing business operations worldwide through expert outsourcing. We are currently recruiting for one of our clients for a Tax Analyst position. This role is responsible for overseeing month-end close reporting, journal entries, and the defense and management of sales tax audits, ensuring compliance across multi-state and international jurisdictions
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather data from billing and accounting records required for filing sales and waste tax returns.
- Research and stay up-to-date with current tax rates and indirect tax regulations.
- Respond to requests for customer sales and use tax exemption certificates.
- Maintain operational license and permit compliance for retail stores, distribution centers, and corporate office locations, including filings for general business licenses, hazardous waste permits, alarm permits, and boat registrations.
- Manage and investigate license and registration inquiries, processes, and procedures to identify business needs and recommend resolutions that ensure compliance with local and state codes.
- Manage compliance notices, process payments for related filings, maintain payment records, and coordinate with government agencies to resolve issues.
- Monitor and reconcile tax return filings to ensure proper payment.
- Assist with external tax audits.
- Coordinate with outside service providers to maintain a log of tax notices and ensure issue resolution.
- Reconcile tax accounts in the General Ledger.
- Ensure use tax is accrued when necessary.
- Conduct periodic reviews of systems and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Perform tax research and compliance/systems support.
- Assist with special projects while adhering to specific deadlines.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 3–5 years of experience in tax or accounting, with specific expertise in multi-state sales and use tax compliance, applicable tax laws, and business license compliance.
- A working knowledge of sales tax compliance, reporting, and remittance for multi-state corporations.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to pivot to meet business needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AS400 (JDA), Hyperion, Vertex Returns/Vertex O series, Zoom, Teams, Avalara business license software, and Anybill payment processing, as well as being bilingual in English and Spanish.
