About the role
We're hiring someone to become the in-house expert on the creators we work with, so every clip we cut feels like it came from someone who actually watches them.
We work with some of the biggest creators around. We take their long-form videos (usually 30 to 50 minutes) and cut them into clips built for how people actually watch on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat and X. The difference between a clip that dies and one that travels is usually knowing the moment: the running joke, the callback, the take the fanbase has been waiting for.
That's your job. You'll know each creator's world inside out: their topics, their audience, their recurring bits, what their comments are asking for. You'll find the moments worth clipping and shape how they're cut for each platform.
If you can edit video, even better. If you're an editor who wants to go deep on content and creators, that's the dream hire.
What you'll do
- Know the creators cold. Watch their back catalogue and every new upload. Keep a living profile on each: topics, tone, recurring bits, inside jokes, catchphrases, collaborators, controversies to avoid, and what their audience reacts to.
- Find the moments. Go through each new long-form video and pull timestamped clip picks, with a short note on why each one will land and which platform it suits.
- Brief the edit. Tell editors where each clip starts and ends, what the hook is in the first 2 seconds, what context needs adding (captions, on-screen text, a cold open), and how it should differ by platform.
- Write the packaging. Hooks, on-screen text, captions and titles that sound like the creator and their fans, not like a brand account.
- Watch the formats. Track what's working on each platform right now: lengths, hook styles, caption formats, trends and sounds. Flag what's shifting before it shows up in our numbers.
- Read the comments. Mine comments and fan communities for what the audience wants more of, and feed that back into clip picks.
- Learn from performance. Review how clips did each week, spot patterns by creator and platform, and adjust the playbook.
- Edit, if that's you. Cut clips yourself, from rough selects to platform-ready exports.
Who you are
- You live on short-form. You can explain why one clip did 5 million views and a near-identical one did 50k.
- You know the difference between what works on TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Snapchat, and you keep up as it changes.
- You can watch a 45-minute video and come out with the 5 to 10 moments that will travel, and you're right more often than not.
- You get obsessive about a subject. When you pick up a creator, you go deep: you know the lore, the in-jokes and the audience.
- You write sharp. Hooks and captions come naturally, in the right voice.
- You're organised. You keep notes and profiles other people can use, and you hit turnaround times on new uploads.
- You're comfortable with numbers: views, retention, watch time, shares. You use them to make better calls, not just to report.
Bonus points
- You can edit. Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut. You can take a long-form video to a captioned, reframed, platform-ready vertical clip on your own. This is the big one: an editor who wants to become a content expert is exactly who we're after.
- You're already a fan. If you already watch the creators on our roster (or creators like them), tell us. Knowing a community from the inside is hard to teach.
- You've clipped before. Experience at a clipping channel, media page, creator team or agency.
- You know the tools. Experience with clipping and captioning tools, and with platform analytics (YouTube Studio, TikTok and Meta insights).
- You've grown something. Your own page, fan account or channel. Show us the numbers.
How to apply
Skip the cover letter. Send us:
1 A short note on which creators you watch most, and one thing about them only a real fan would know.
2 A link to any clips you've edited or pages you've grown, with numbers if you have them.
3 The task: pick any long-form video (20 minutes or more) from a creator you love. Give us your top 5 clip moments with timestamps, a hook for each, the platform you'd post it on, and one line on why it'll work. If you edit, cut one of them and send the file.
