About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Controller to join the db Group Finance Department in Malta. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling costs across the Group’s business units, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, investigate, and explain monthly cost budget variances.
- Conduct spot checks upon receiving and posting invoices.
- Analyze monthly cost of goods and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency.
- Review wastages and consumables to prevent cost overruns.
- Perform stock-takes and spot checks across multiple outlets.
- Analyze stock variances from physical inventory cycle counts.
- Close monthly consumption reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Drive process improvements to achieve financial and operational KPIs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Cost Controller or similar finance role.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
- Willingness to travel locally between the Group’s various locations in Malta.
