Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Commercial Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of multiple projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
The role requires a proactive individual who can build strong relationships with project teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors while ensuring commercial objectives and contractual obligations are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of allocated projects from commencement through to completion.
- Provide commercial support and guidance to project delivery teams.
- Assist in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Prepare and submit contractual notifications, communications, and applications for payment.
- Produce internal cash flow forecasts, cost reports, and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
- Prepare, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements and supplier contracts.
- Monitor project costs and maintain accurate commercial records.
- Identify, assess, and manage compensation events, variations, and claims where applicable.
- Liaise regularly with clients, project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to maintain strong working relationships.
- Support the Commercial Manager in resolving commercial issues and managing project risks.
- Maintain contract records and ensure all commercial documentation is accurately filed and updated.
- Submit weekly cost control reports, including project costs, progress updates, and forecast information.

- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, proactive, and results-driven approach.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and construction commercial practices would be advantageous.
