Engineering Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, work closely with senior management, and contribute to the growth and success of the organization.

Inspera is a cloud-based digital assessment platform enabling you to plan, author, deliver and grade digital exams and assessments in one place - onsite or remotely.
More than 150 educational institutions worldwide are using Inspera to digitally deliver standardised tests, open and closed-book exams, final exams, and coursework assessments, on-site or in a hybrid/remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Manages 1-3 Engineering teams that deliver product functionality and releases.
- Works closely with the product team in grooming and other agile ceremonies to advance requirements through the pipeline.
- Ensures strong communications and collaborations with other departments, in multiple forums, supporting successful product delivery.
- Manages the resources in the teams, providing continual support to enable successful outcomes.
- Delivers and helps defne the Engineering strategy and roadmap; as a key member of the engineering management team.
- Builds the teams that are your responsibility to continually increase the collective capability.
- Provides and manage planning and reporting for your teams, ensure we deliver our commitments on time and to budget.
Qualifcations
- Bachelor's Degree: In Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Management – at least 5 years management of product development teams. Has managed and grown 10+ resources directly, ideally in multiple locations and utilising offshore successfully.
- Personality – can drive positive outcomes, is proactive, collaborative, can lead and inspire. Can communicate well with global teams. Can handle multiple demands at the same time.
- Product & SaaS - solid understanding of product development lifecycle, experience of SaaS products at reasonable scale. Comfortable working with product, architecture & service support teams
- Methodology – solid experience of working with & managing scrum delivery and agile practices, including planning, estimating, budgeting and reporting. Sprints, retros.
- Technology – 5+ years working in Product development, cloud/AWS experience, web applications, SOA, full stack knowledge – expertise in particular modern technologies, CI/CD, test automation approaches, Atlassian toolsets, SDLC Process awareness for SDLC products.
- General/Bonus – EdTech experience not essential but a bonus. Does not need to come from Startup/Scale-up but ready for those challenges, Operational experience – prod & service support, monitoring tools – all beneficial but not essential.
