R&D Chemist / Material Scientist – Sustainable Composite Materials
EchoNut is developing sustainable composite materials made from natural raw materials for acoustic panels, interior design, and architectural applications.
We are looking for a hands-on R&D Chemist / Material Scientist who wants to work directly in the lab, develop new formulations, test binders and fibers, and help bring ecological materials from prototype to real production.
This role is ideal for someone who is curious, practical, precise, and excited about creating new sustainable materials with real market potential.
- Your Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize formulations for sustainable composite materials based on natural raw materials
- Test and improve binders, fibers, additives, drying processes, pressing methods, and surface treatments
- Conduct laboratory experiments and document results clearly and accurately
- Analyze material properties such as strength, flexibility, water resistance, durability, shrinkage, and surface quality
- Support the development of acoustic panels, decorative panels, and other interior material products
- Work closely with the production and product development team to transfer lab results into scalable processes
- Identify problems in formulations or production steps and develop practical solutions
- Research new bio-based materials, natural additives, and sustainable production methods
Your Profile
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related field
- Practical laboratory experience in formulation development, materials testing, composites, polymers, binders, coatings, or similar areas
- Strong analytical thinking and a structured way of working
- Hands-on mentality and willingness to test, improve, and repeat experiments
- Interest in sustainable materials, circular economy, and ecological product development
- Ability to document experiments, results, and process improvements clearly
- Good English skills; Albanian is an advantage
