Scope of Work: Access to Finance Lead

Background

Palladium is actively seeking candidates for the anticipated USAID/Kosovo Developing Export-led Growth in Kosovo activity. This activity will facilitate Kosovo’s private sector to become more competitive in local, regional, and international markets, promoting export-led growth. The anticipated objectives for this activity are: to increase exports through improved Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sophistication and market knowledge and linkages, to develop a skilled workforce to better meet private sector needs, and to expand access to finance in order to enhance firms’ growth and productivity.

Purpose of Position

The Access to Finance Lead will oversee all activities under Component 3: Expand access to finance to facilitate firms’ growth and productivity.

Duration:              5 years
Location:              Pristina, Kosovo 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and managerial support for the project’s access to finance activities.
  • Leads development and implementation of the project’s efforts to expand financial access to SMEs through traditional and alternative financial institutions.
  • Collaborates with SMEs and partner organizations to understand the financial needs of SMEs in growth-oriented sectors.
  • Develops partnerships with traditional and alternative sources of finance to develop new products and services to meet the financing needs of SMEs in growth-oriented sectors.
  • Share results and learning with project leadership, Palladium, and USAID.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Position Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a relevant subject (Business, Economics, Finance, International Development) or a BA and 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in English and Albanian required.
  • At least five years’ experience implementing access to finance and/or financial inclusion activities in Kosovo or region.
  • At least three years’ experience on donor-funded projects, USAID experience a plus.
  • Experience working with financial institutions and the financial ecosystem in Kosovo to expand access to finance for the private sector, especially for SMEs.
