Head of Finance Department (Chief Accountant)

	 	 

DESCRIPTION & MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful development of Mogo is underpinned by robust capital structure, strong management team, highly sophisticated IT platform and industry-leading data analytic capabilities. We are looking for an experienced professional for the position of Head of Finance Department (Chief Accountant) who will lead, plan, organize and manage the accounting and reporting activities of the company. Finance Department contributes in decision making by preparing timely and accurate reports for the management, shareholders and external parties, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory framework. Finance Department manages accounting functions of the company in compliance with Local and International Accounting standards, providing reliable, systematic and accurate data on the financial situation of the company.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, organize and manage the accounting and reporting activities;
  2. Manage and coach a small team in the finance department;
  3. Responsible for VAT and other obligatory tax and statistical reporting;
  4. Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Central Bank;
  5. Responsible for monthly reporting to Group and participate in short and long term budgeting and forecasting process

MAIN REQUIREMENTS

  1. University Degree in the field of Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analysis or Statistics, applicants with graduate degree and Certified Accountant are preferred; 
  2. Successful candidate should have at least 3 years (preferably 5+) of work experience as head of finance/accounting in decent size company;
  3. IFRS knowledge and ability to identify main differences between local accounting standards and IFRS; Experience in monitor monthly key financial statement metric 
  4. Experience in control process of consumer loan payouts and calculation of fees and interest 
  5. Advanced IT literacy, experience in implementing ERP and accounting systems;
  6. Excellent organizational and management skills;
  7. High sense of responsibility;
  8. Good tax legislation knowledge and ability to find answers on tax related questions
  9. Self-confidence and project leadership skills;
  10. Hands on’ person, ready to do everything from A to Z related to finance and accounting and more;
  11. Good command of English language;
  12. Bring a smiley face at workplace.
