CO-WORKER FOR SOS Children’s Villages OFFICE Skills and Capacity Building Specialist M/F

SOS Children’s Villages is a non-governmental organization, social development organization, which is active in the field of Children’s Rights by supporting their needs and concerns since 1999, offering to children without parental care and in risk of losing parental care, a stable home and solid preparation for an independent life.

The SOS Children’s Village has started to implement a new regional project “Youth Empowerment Enabling Prospects”, which overall objective is to improve employment prospects and active participation in the labour market of 1,600 vulnerable youth in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia.

SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo is looking for a suitable person for the position of: SKILLS AND

CAPACITY BUILDING SPECIALIST.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the evaluation of project beneficiaries;
  • Responsible for the training on life skills and employability;
  • Career guidance;
  • Support youth in developing job search strategies;
  • Follow-up on the progress;
  • Communication, cooperation and organizing joint activities with business and state-run companies;
  • Organization and delivery of basic life skills & employability trainings;
  • Supporting beneficiaries in developing job search strategies, job applications and interviews;
  • Conducting a screening of available vocational training programs and follow the beneficiaries’ progress according to their needs and abilities;
  • Working as a liaison in collaborative relationships with the companies offering internships/ apprenticeships and all possible employers;
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.

REQUIREMENT FOR THE POSITION:

  • Bachelor degree in social sciences or related fields;
  • Working experience with youth and delivery of trainings for youth;
  • Ability and motivation to work with and to train young people;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Ability to be proactive and to be self-starter;
  • Interpersonal communication skills;
  • Fluency in English language in writing and communication;
  • Fluency in Serbian language is highly desirable.

COMPETENCES – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABBILITIES

  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity and high degree of discretion and confidentiality;
  • Ability to work in multicultural environment;
  • Organisational skills;
  • Independent and reliable person, capable to work under pressure;
  • Excellent MS Office skills, MS Excel in particular;
  • Possession of a driving license (Category B);
  • Willingness to travel around the country;
  • Positive working attitude and ability to work under high pressure.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Time-limited work of 33 months
  • Opening working hours Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00
