About JRS: 

Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, that they may heal, learn, and determine their own future. JRS programmes are currently found in 56 countries, serving refugees and other forcibly displaced persons in conflict zones and detention centres, on remote borders and in busy cities. JRS in Kosovo was established in 2001 and through its programme supports refugees with psycho-social activities, capacity building activities, humanitarian relief and sport and cultural activities

Project Description:

The project “Supporting and Assisting Migrants in Reception and Detention Centers in Kosovo through Capacity Building of Staff in the Centers” aims to work in improving the life of the asylum seekers in Kosovo. We aim to achieve sustainability through the capacity building of the staff of the centers. This is the only way that refugees are going to be respected and to receive qualitative services. The project is implemented within two Centers; Reception and Detention Center and it also deals with Governmental Structures as duty bearers and service providers for the wellbeing of refugees and migrants in Kosovo.

Objectives of the training:

  • Staff of the Detention and Reception Center have increased their knowledge on constructive communication.
  • Staff of the Detention and Reception Center have increased their knowledge on how to prevent burnouts during their daily work.
  • Staff of the Detention and Reception Center are more effective in their daily work by taking care of their emotions and knowing how to deal with stress.

Required/ preferred experience and skills of the trainer

  • Experience and knowledge in communication and stress management
  • Experience and knowledge on Refugees Situation in Kosovo
  • Experience and knowledge of the Law for Foreigners in Kosovo
  • Expertise in similar types of trainings
  • Very good planning and time management skills
  • Ability to work in team and take instructions

Role and Responsibilities of the service provider:

  • Prepare the training module
  • Prepare the Facilitation guideline and the methodology of the training that will be used
  • Develop an interactive methodology to deliver the training
  • Develop the tool to measure the knowledge gained from the training (pre-post test or evaluation form)
  • Prepare the training report

Role and Responsibilities of JRS- Kosovo:

  • All deliverables mentioned above will be revised and approved by JRS prior to consider those documents as final
