  • General information on the project

Through the project “Rights Amplified: Inclusive Development and Social Inclusion for children, youth and families most impacted by discrimination in Kosovo”, founded by European Union Office in Kosovo, Save the Children Kosova/o aims to contribute on the well-being and rights of girls, boys, women, victims/survivors of GBV and Domestic Violence, and children and youth with disabilities in seven targeted municipalities by improving Gender-Responsive Social Protection services provided by both formal and non-formal social service providers.

  • Objective

The assignment aims to enhance the capacities of formal and non-formal service providers (from Centers for Social Work and licensed Non-Governmental Organizations) on understanding principles of gender components, gender equality and approach to be used while mainstreaming it on the provided social services.

  • Location and official travel involved

Contracted services are to be carried out in Kosovo.

  • Provision of the services:

The selected local expert/company will design a training program on gender equality, with a particular focus on gender mainstreaming and deliver developed training program for formal and non-formal service providers.
Experience and skill set required:
Save the Children Kosova/o is seeking a local expert/company with the required expertise in gender equality and social inclusion.

Interested applicants should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • A Master’s degree in the field of gender studies, Sociology, Human Rights, Social Science or any other related field (PhD would be considered an asset);
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of gender equality and social inclusion – including experience working with a diverse range of organizations and institutions;
  • Understanding of gender-related issues, social inclusion and diversity;
  • Understanding the social protection system in Kosovo and scope of social services;
  • Analytical skills to understand and explain complicated ideas and problems in a simple and understandable language;
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills – to have the ability to facilitate group discussion and activities, as well as individual coaching;
  • Ability to produce high-quality products on time;
  • Flexibility and adaptability – to adopt their training approach to meet the unique needs and challenges of each group of participants – as well as respond to unexpected changes or challenges during the training program;
  • Excellent command of English and Albanian. Knowledge on Serbian language would be a strong asset;
  • Ability to produce well-written reports, in a reader-friendly format, demonstrating excellent analytical and communication skills.

Save the Children Kosova/o expects the following deliverables and timeline:

For the selected expert / company to fulfil the timeline provided below, 9 working days will be needed.

Estimated Commencement Date: 5th of June 2024
Estimated End Date: 31st of July 2024

Status updates/reporting

The selected local expert/company should maintain ongoing communication with representatives of Save the Children Kosova/o during the entire period.

  • Acceptance

The assigned deliverables (all training documents will be accepted by:

  • Project Manager within 5 days of the delivery date
  • General assumptions and dependencies

Save the Children Kosova/o within the project ‘Rights Amplified: Inclusive Development and Social Inclusion for children, youth and families most impacted by discrimination in Kosovo’ funded by European Union Office in Kosovo, foresees to strengthen the cooperation of formal service providers (Centers for Social Work) and non-formal service providers working in licensed NGOs that provide social services to vulnerable groups. Furthermore, Save the Children Kosova/o, in addition to its technical role during the consultancy, will also offer feedback on the proposed methodology.

  • Payment information

Save the Children Kosova/o will remunerate the facilitator on a daily gross fee (from which the income taxes will be withheld and paid, based on Kosovo Law) or/and in an amount free of VAT in the case of the Company. Save the Children Kosova/o will make the payment through bank transfer in the bank account upon completion and approval of the assignment and submission of the completed timesheet/invoice.

  • 100% of the total cost payable within 15 days of satisfactory completion of assigned deliverables

Sometimes the nature of the services required necessitates that Suppliers are paid on a daily/hourly rate. Timesheets are required for all service providers on a daily/hourly rate e.g.
Payment will be made based on the contractually agreed daily rate and only for the contractually agreed services. Timesheets using the template provided are to be submitted monthly during the Engagement. Payment will only be made upon receipt of a valid invoice accompanied by the timesheet/s for the relevant period.
Other important information

As a condition of entering into a consultancy agreement, the Company/individual(s) must sign the Save the Children International Child Safeguarding Policy and abide by the terms and conditions thereof.
