Responsible for running the general operation in the leisure club (SPA & Fitness Center), leading the leisure club team, driving forward the leisure club strategy, achieving set targets in revenues and profit, whilst providing a safe and clean leisure environment for both members and guests. Ensures that standards of service and product are in line with the Four Points by Sheraton standards.


  • Sets the annual sales and profit budget for all leisure departments (SPA including Spa therapies, massage therapies, cosmetic treatments, Turkish bath and Fitness Department), incorporating into this a strategy for attaining growth.
  • Closely cooperates with Sales & Marketing Manager to take actions to increase reservations & revenue of the leisure club.
  • Identifies target sales markets and creates effective sales campaigns to drive revenue and profit.
  • Designs and delivers leisure activities that positively impact across all measures on the KPI’s. Determines appropriate leisure offerings to optimize sales / revenue generation.
  • Sets the membership strategy, including new sales and retention activities.
  • Manages and monitors delivery of the membership sales process.
  • Develops and delivers a calendarised plan of revenue generating activities.
  • Implements the Leisure Business Plan to deliver results against the strategic leisure plan for the business.
  • Manages spa supplies in terms of quality, pricing, consumption, orders and suggests renewal of contracts or changing of suppliers and/or brands, if required.
  • Implements and controls effective purchasing and ordering activities to optimise service and profit performance.
  • Minimises stock loss and carries out stock security procedures.
  • Ensures the availability of equipment and resources to enable the consistent delivery of the leisure product.
  • Prepares daily, weekly and annual spa reports and presents those to GM.
  • Responsible for productivity and gross profit of the leisure club. Controls all departmental costs to deliver profit targets.
  • Ensures an active preventative maintenance plan is in place, agreeing with Chief Engineer a plan for continuous improvement.
  • Delivers the Marriott operational standards as measured in the Leisure Audit.
  • Manages and monitors an ongoing programme of Risk Assessments and upholds and maintains the requirements for due diligence including accurate records.
  • Ensures safe, effective storage procedures are used for all leisure materials / chemicals etc.
  • Complies with Health & Safety legislation and Marriott processes and implements systems for effective consistent delivery.
  • Personally champion Health & Safety processes as per Leisure SOPs, One Vision Standards, Self Assessments.
  • Personally acts to address any Health & Safety issues identified by the Leisure Audit.
  • Utilises guest and team feedback to revise the approach to leisure operations as appropriate.
  • Communicates with all leisure associates to ensure that they are fully engaged with Marriott and the leisure business.
  • Consistently works to improve guest/member satisfaction scores.
  • Sets targets for the leisure team and communicates performance results.
  • Implements a successful associate recruitment and retention programme utilising the Marriott standard training and accreditation structures.
  • Ensures that ongoing statistical reports are maintained, compiled on a shift basis from the visitors book in order to work out business trends for staffing levels.
  • Ensures that the Leisure Complex is staffed to meet the needs of the business.
  • Makes regular department meetings to update the team of the hotel subjects and recent events for consistent information flow.
  • Organizes social motivational activities to enhance team spirit and to motivate the team.
  • Ensures continuous interdepartmental communication and cooperation.
  • Being conversant with all plant and machinery in relation to: Plant Room, Lockers, Steam Room, and Gymnasium.
  • Responsible to follow all departmental procedures and standards.
  • Adheres to fire health & safety procedures of the hotel together with his team.
  • Responsible for correct and safe use of the equipment in his department.
  • Responsible for hygiene and cleanliness of his/her working area.
  • Maintains neat and clean attire in line with Access grooming standards.
  • Undertakes other responsibilities assigned by his/her manager and prepares reports requested by his/her manager.


Education: University diploma

Experience: Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a multi recreational facility, preferably in the “Leisure Club” at a branded hotel. Experience of working in a sales driven business environment.

Other Qualifications: Good level of written and spoken English, additional language will be an asset. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs and email, effectively uses systems to organize data, reports and processes. Dynamic, energetic, team player with a positive approach, good communicator and highly motivated at all times. Strong leadership skills are required.
