Project Background:

ETwinning was launched in 2005 as the main action of the European Commission’s eLearning Programme, eTwinning is co-funded by the Erasmus+, the European programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport, since 2014. Its Central Support Service is operated by European Schoolnet, an international partnership of 34 European Ministries of Education developing learning for schools, teachers and pupils across Europe. eTwinning is further supported at national level by 38 National Support Services and 8 Partner Support Agencies in 44 countries. There are 36 in eTwinning and 8 in eTwinning Plus. eTwinning offers a platform for staff (teachers, head teachers, librarians, etc.), working in a school in one of the European countries involved, to communicate, collaborate, develop projects, share and be part of an exciting learning community in Europe. eTwinning is co-funded by Erasmus+, the European programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport.

Through these forms of support, e-Twinning aims to provide schools and educators with the ICT tools, knowledge, and support needed to create successful and impactful cross-border collaborations aiming at advancement of professional development and acknowledgement, curriculum integration and innovative pedagogy.

In Kosovo the eTwinning national support office is located in Kosovo Erasmus+ Office (KEO) and its activities are coordinated between KEO and the Ministry of Education Science Technology and Innovation (MESTI). In eTwinning the focus of the networking of practitioners in education and training will be teachers of all communities in Kosovo to develop cooperation modalities with the neighboring countries in the region of Western Balkan and the EU, but also with the countries encompassed by e-Twinning Plus aiming to promote cross-border collaboration between schools and educators in European Union countries and neighboring countries.

Purpose of the Position:

The National Support Officer for eTwinning will play a crucial role in supporting the successful implementation of the eTwinning component in Kosovo. The primary focus will be on facilitating collaboration and communication among participating schools, promoting the integration of eTwinning tools, and providing technical assistance to educators in primary and secondary schools.

To contribute to the operation of the European School Education Platform and e-Twinning, a following variety of events will be organized by NSO that will attract the attention of teachers, students, and other education stakeholders:

  1. Information sessions to introduce e-Twinning to teachers and provide them with a clear understanding of the program, its objectives, and the benefits of participating;
  2. Workshops: Conduct workshops that teach teachers how to use the e-Twinning platform, create project ideas, and manage online collaboration with international partners;
  3. Webinars: Host webinars that showcase successful e-Twinning projects and provide teachers with practical advice on how to implement their own projects;
  4. Online forums: Create online forums where teachers can connect with potential e-Twinning partners, share project ideas, and discuss ways to collaborate effectively;
  5. Competitions: Organize e-Twinning project competitions and award prizes to the most innovative, creative, and successful projects. This can help generate interest and excitement among teachers and students;
  6. Conferences: Host e-Twinning conferences where teachers can network with other educators, attend workshops and presentations, and learn about the latest trends and developments in e-Twinning;
  7. Social media campaigns: Launch social media campaigns that highlight the benefits of e-Twinning, showcase successful projects, and encourage teachers and students to participate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for eTwinning-related queries and support at the national level.
  • Organize information/training sessions and workshops to familiarize educators with eTwinning tools and methodologies.
  • Support the identification and onboarding of schools into the eTwinning platform.
  • Collaborate with the project team to integrate eTwinning activities into the overall project plan.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of eTwinning collaborations, providing guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Actively engage with the eTwinning community, sharing success stories and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of reports and documentation related to eTwinning activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, EU Studies, international relations, or other field related to the tasks of the position.
  • Demonstrated experience in school education or teaching in schools as well as online school collaborative platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the education sector, particularly in the context of the EU project.
  • Strong ICT skills and digital literacy are essential to eTwinning platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to organize and facilitate training sessions and workshops.
  • Familiarity with project monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Fluent in English language is mandatory, Serbian is an advantage.
  • Driving license (Category B) is an advantage.

Duration and Location:

Project duration from April 2024 – February 2026 with a possibility of extension. The position is based in Prishtina and requires national and international travel. The National Support Officer will report directly to Coordinator of Kosovo Erasmus+ Office.
