Vacancies for Battle Area Clearance OperatorsNorwegian People-s Aid (NPA) is a humanitarian organization currently working in more than 30
countries around the world.
In Kosovo NPA is focusing on clearance of cluster munitions in northern Kosovo. The program has
funding from the United States, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Commission and
currently employs 104 staff of different ethnicities. We are looking for interested candidates for the
position of Battle Area Clearance (BAC) Operator, who will be working in the field, mainly in the
municipalities of Zubin Potok, Mitrovica South, Leposavic and Pristina but also elsewhere if required.
NPA will organize a three-week training in February/March 2024, followed by accreditation of the
successful participants by the Kosovo national mine action authorities. Only successful training
participants will be considered for employment.General responsibilities of a BAC Operator
Education requirements/ Skills/ Qualification
Clearance operations require continuous communication and exchange of information with the local
population. As mixed gender teams are better suited to get in touch with both genders, female
candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. NPA Kosovo already employ’s a number of female
colleagues in this and other operational positions.
