Job Description:
Deloitte is currently recruiting for an upcoming multi-year United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program in Kosovo. Deloitte is seeking well-qualified candidates for multiple long-and short-term positions, for candidates with backgrounds in climate change adaptation and mitigation, gender and social inclusion, private sector engagement, behavior change, capacity building, smart agriculture, smart cities, and more. These candidates will develop and implement the Kosovo Adapt activity, and help create, within Kosovo, a resilient environment and more economic sustainability through increased awareness and demand for climate solutions, and policies that support climate change mitigation and adaptation. This initiative’s implementing team will partner with national government, local government, the private sector, NGOs and local community organizations, and USG stakeholders to:
1.Identify constraints and opportunities related to climate change mitigation and adaptation
2.Raise awareness to climate change issues and engage stakeholders to support and implement climate smart policies and incentives
3.Enable stakeholders to support, promote, and lead climate smart policies and initiatives
Location and duration of assignment will vary based on position, however some positions will be expected to be based in Prishtina, Kosovo, while others may travel for short assignments in country.
Qualifications and Expectation Sought for Various Specialists Under the Kosovo Adapt Activity:

Advanced degree in sustainability, climate change, agriculture and food systems, environmental science, environmental economics, public administration, public policy, economic development, business administration, or other relevant field
5+ years of exceptional experience, preferably in Kosovo, the Western Balkans and East Central Europe, working on climate programs
Demonstrated experience working among counterparts developing and/or implementing climate smart policies and initiatives in Kosovo and/or East Central Europe, the Western Balkans or other related regions
Strong experience and a record of successful performance in one or more of the following areas: o Experience working in policy and legal/regulatory initiatives regarding climate smart solutions


Experience providing capacity building for national and local government agencies, particularly focused on the environment, the economy, and urban/rural development


Experience working in behavior change for climate smart solutions, preferably in local or
community environments


Experience leveraging private sector expertise and enabling private sector financing for climate smart solutions
Experience working in the agriculture sector and food systems value chain for climate smart solutions
Experience supporting energy efficiency, renewable energy, and related clean energy solutions
Experience working in policy, community-based change programs a plus


Fluency in English; Fluency in Albanian and/or Fluency in or knowledge of Serbian is a plus

Location:
The primary place of performance will be in Prishtina, Kosovo, and residency in the country is preferred.
