Overview:

CUNITECH (Canadian University of Technology) is looking for a passionate individual with a desire to participate in researching and creating content for a wide range of interesting and exciting topics in the Information Security and Project Management fields. The ideal candidate for the Course Development Manager position is someone who is adept at researching and conducting research and can apply the knowledge gained to develop engaging and interactive eLearning modules for a variety of online courses.

Job Title: Course Development Manager

Job Purpose:

The Course Development Manager is a high-impact project management position within CUNITECH's learning organization. You will focus on developing online training modules, work with instructional designers to create content and continue to help develop our current training offerings. The ideal candidate is comfortable creating eLearning modules, creating and editing multimedia elements for the online courses, and has a can-do attitude. In addition, the Course Development Manager supports projects internally and is responsible for tasks and assignments related to training development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops programs for three primary audiences: employees, partner institutions, and customers.
  • Works closely with subject matter experts, i.e. development team, course conveners, products team, product marketing, sales operations, etc. to leverage core content and build effective learning programs.
  • Improves the quality of the training course produced to meet customer needs.
  • Improves the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of organizations mission specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process, and organizational planning.
  • Provide training and support to employees on different standards and subjects as assigned.
  • Maintains continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating needed actions to management, discovering irregularities, determining continuing needs.
  • Identifies and implements new technology and resources; redesigns systems; recommends re-deployment of designated resources.
  • Monitors end-user feedback and systems development efforts to facilitate continuous improvement of documentation.
  • Accomplishes division and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Develops learning programs that include multiple modalities: self-paced e-learning, virtual and face-to-face workshops, and on-the-job learning activities.
  • Creates complimentary instructor lead training, including exercises, role plays, simulations, and job aids as needed.
  • Develops eLearning modules for technical courses in the field of cybersecurity such as Penetration Testing, Ethical Hacking, Web Application Penetration Testing, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Cyber Security Incident Management, Cyber Incident Response, etc.
  • Develops eLearning modules for penetration testing tools such as Kali Linux, ParrotOS, Burp Suite, DVWA.
  • Creates innovative eLearning modules for Cyber Threat Intelligence and Incident Response tools such as TheHive, Cortex, and MISP.
  • Ability to program manage multiple complex learning projects simultaneously. Monitor activity, progress, and time related to project development using a project planning tool.
  • Works with a global task force from the respective audience to solicit feedback and ensure programs are relevant and on target. Arranges for pilot group testing of all new or updated courses.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, presentation decks, and course materials for curriculums by job role.
  • Designs and develops dynamic instructional interactions and simulations to create interactive, engaging course content, simulations for software, tools, etc.
  • Ensures learning and performance objectives are appropriate to the audience and that the training materials meet the learning and performance objectives.
  • Experience creating, editing, synchronizing, and/or recording both audio and video for eLearning courses.
  • Monitors and reports the effectiveness of all training conducted and revise courses as needed.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on training courses that have been developed.
  • Support and maintain the global knowledge base and repository for best practice documents, key tools, and templates.
  • Translates needs analysis and functional specifications into detailed course designs.
  • Use eLearning tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Brainshark, Cornerstone, WebEx to create an interactive and compliant web-based training deliverable
  • Builds e-learning that is compliant and can be tracked by the LMS. Works with LMS vendor, IT, or software vendor to resolve any technical issues with the web-based training course or its performance within the LMS.
  • Works with subject matter experts to design and develop audience-appropriate, clear, and concise training content.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the top management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced PowerPoint user (visuals, graphics), Advanced Excel, familiar with macros.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in the fields of Computer Science, Information Security, IT Engineering, Information Systems, a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent academic writing skills.
  • Experience in Windows Operating System.
  • Experience in Linux-based operating systems such as Ubuntu, Kali Linux, Parrot OS.
  • Comfortable using the command line interface of Linux Terminals.
  • Experience in setting up virtual machines using virtualization software such as Virtual Box, VMware.
  • Experience administering, creating and hosting e-learning programs and knowledge of content development and testing/survey tools such as Articulate, Brainshark, Camtasia, and Cornerstone.
  • Ability to apply structured problem solving (taking a large, complex problem and breaking it down into components, involving others as needed, drive resolution).
  • Ability to set a vision and drive tactical execution, willing to roll up the sleeves to complete projects in an environment with competing deadlines.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced changing environment; ability to be flexible and resilient.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize effectively.
  • High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.
  • Impact, influence, and successful stakeholder engagement experience across multiple sites and levels of leadership from new managers to senior leaders.
  • Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of course development processes.
  • Meticulous approach towards the delivery of their work with an eye for details.
  • Knowledge of mobile learning best practices.
  • Poise, maturity, and interpersonal skills to deal professionally and effectively with senior management.
  • Polished communication skills, active listener, and ability to synthesize high-level technical information.
