Position Title : Camp Management Support Assistant
Duty Station : Ferizaj. Kosovo
Classification : General Service Staff
Type of Appointment : Special Short Term Ungraded, 6 months with possibility  of extension
Estimated Start Date : As soon as possible

Context: 

The International Organization for Migration, the UN Migration Agency, is the leading inter governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental,  intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane  and orderly migration for the benefit of all and it does so by providing services and advice to  governments and migrants.  

IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote  international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to  migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including  refugees and internally displaced people.  

As part of its activities in Kosovo, IOM assists in providing humanitarian assistance and  protection-sensitive responses to migrants.  

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Camp  Management Support Coordinator, the Camp Management Support Assistant is responsible  to: 

Core Functions / Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Camp Management Support Coordinator in implementation of project  activities in line with IOM policies and procedures. 
  • Assist in the planning, organization and logistical arrangement of day-to-day activities  in the site, support procurement of services, supplies, equipment and support  administrative processes; report regularly on the challenges and progress recorded in  realization of activities. 
  • Prepare meeting and briefing notes. 
  • Ensure all documentation related to operational activities is complete, up to date and  properly filed. 
  • Support drafting of project interim and final reports in a timely manner, as well as other  relevant information materials as required for the authorities, donors and IOM. • Follow standard operating procedures established for the site. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications and Experience 

Education 

  • University degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development  Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited  academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience. 

Experience/ 

  • Experience in working with migrants, persons with different cultural background,  victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups. 
  • Experience in the field of humanitarian assistance and development is an asset • Experience in liaising with authorities, diplomatic missions and international  organizations is highly desirable 

Skills 

Languages 

Fluency in English and local language/s (oral and written). Working knowledge of Dari  and/or Pashto will be considered as an asset.
