Manager for the educational and family restaurant at Environmental Education Center “THESARET E NATYRES”

VIER PFOTEN Kosova is a national foundation for animal protection located in Mramos (near Badovci Lake) Prishtina. VIER PFOTEN Kosova (VPK) leads a sanctuary for mistreated bears close to Pristina (“BEAR SANCTUARY Prishtina” -BSP) which is a project of international animal welfare organization VIER PFOTEN (FOUR PAWS). Besides the care for its 19 bears the project also focusses on public education for animal welfare, nature and environmental protection.

Scope of work:

Restaurant manager responsibilities include maintaining the restaurant's revenue, profitability and quality goals. The Restaurant Manager will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.


  • Coordinating daily restaurant management operations
  • Responsible for creating the menu, evaluate and customize it according to customers' requirements
  • Delivering superior food and beverage service and maximizing customer satisfaction
  • Responding efficiently and accurately to restaurant customer complaints
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
  • Organize and supervise shifts
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
  • Control operational costs
  • Prepare the plan of revenues from restaurant and works to achieve them
  • Ready to implement the Environmental educational concept "Treasure hunt" in the restaurant,
  • Promote healthy and vegetarian food,
  • Cooperate with farmer families in the neighborhood, for providing local products for the kitchen
  • Responsible for preparing and organizing of events in the restaurant,
  • Coordinate promotion of menu and events in cooperation with Marketing officer,
  • Ready to recycle waste in the kitchen and restaurant
  • Ready to Respect FOUR PAWS Nutrition Rules and Animal Welfare,
  • Controls origin of the products, especially products with animal origin (eggs, meet, dairy products) and excludes products when animals are kept or slaughtered in non-human conditions
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations


  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manageror similar role
  • BSc degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary education is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software
  • Leadership skills
  • Financial management skills
  • Driving license
